Instead of using mechanical counters or other sensor solutions the printing and packaging industries are increasingly relying on the DMH Counter. Using laser light, triangulation processes, a 1,024 bit receiver array and light section evaluation, it ensures rapid, accurate, and economical counting of newspapers, magazines, packaging and boxes.

Four DME 3000 laser distance measurement devices control the opening and closing of the enormous retractable roof of Melbourne´s Olympic football stadium. The accuracy and high speed of distance measurement ensures that precise distance information is transferred to the Siemens S7 plant control system via the SSI interface.

The DME distance measuring device measures the position of the storage and retrieval unit, transfers the measured values to the unit via Profibus and ISD, and carries out closed loop position control there. Data from the master computer is simultaneously transferred to the storage and retrieval unit.

With the new ICS 100 2-D sensor, users in production and packaging technology can now experience, live, the checking of presence, completeness or shape of up to four test samples simultaneously.
